The best BBQ in NC. Everything was delicious, and I do mean EVERYTHING!! Go see for yourself. The staff was wonderful and patient. I couldn't decide on what I wanted, cause everything sounded so good. I did get 2 plates, and the sweet potato crunch was awesome!
I am going to agree with the majority of folks on here stating that this place has great food. We are from out of town and wanted to try something local and this place was just what the doctor ordered. The folks working here are some of the nicest people, and did I mention the food is great?! We had the pulled pork plate and the pulled chicken plate. We had hush puppies, collard greens, baked beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. They have a variety of sauces and we tried them all. Next time we are in town, we will be sure to stop by. I would also like to mention that even though they have 2 tables located outside, this is predominately take out which works well if you are staying at one of the nearby campgrounds.
This place is amazing! The woman who took our order was so helpful in figuring out what/how much to order, and let us customize our order so we could try the pork and the chicken. The Memphis sweet sauce was delicious and the meat was perfectly tender. My husband loved the coleslaw because it had pickles in it, and we both loved the loaded potato salad. If you're visiting the area and looking for an incredibly affordable but delicious dinner, visit Smokey and the Pig!
Great affordable spot for BBQ. Pulled pork was solid. Alabama white and Carolina gold sauces were divine. Nice quick and friendly service. Definitely worth the spot and scratches the BBQ spot!
Great little spot with delicious food! My husband got a plate with pork, 2 sides, and hush puppies, and I got the special - smoked chicken with a mango jalapeño slaw on a roll with a side of cucumber salad. The meats were perfectly smoked, and the sides were amazing. My husband loved the mac & cheese so much that he went back for more. I'm so glad we skipped our original plan for lunch and found this instead. And I'm grateful that one of their two outdoor tables opened up right when we got our food.
Went here last weekend. The owner was very nice. She let us try the meat and the sauce. They have family meals and individual ones. We wanted to get some of each meat to share. She made the suggestion of buying half a pound of each. We picked baked beans and Fry's. Had a choice of hush puppies or buns. Had two large sweet teas. Less than 40 before I added the tip. We ate lunch. Had supper at home and had enough left to freeze for a meal later on. Covered seating out side. Can take it with you. Worth the trip from Leicester. Great food very friendly people. Glad we found it. Will be back. Ohh one sauce is sweet. The other I think they said was sweet with a little spice.
Enjoyed the 1/2 rack ribs and pulled pork. Will return.
